Infocus 4805 and HD players....

I have an Infocus 4805. I am wondering if I got either an hd-dvd or blu-ray. How would the picture look? Would it be better or worse than a regular dvd? Eventually, I want to get an hd projector. But, until then. Is it worth it to hook an hd player to the 4805?

Thanks!

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Re: Infocus 4805 and HD players....

what's the native resolution of the 4805?

either way, the answer is YES if you watch HD-DVD/BRD content. For SD it's "probably not" depending on how well your current DVD player and projector scale.

HD/BRD content is really really nice.

Re: Infocus 4805 and HD players....

The native res of the 4805 is 854x480 or WVGA.

When I got my HD-A1 I hooked it up via component to the 4805 and encountered some serious issues on the Batman Begins HD DVD - specifically posterization and noise in the clouds of the wideshot of the Chinese mountain range. I didn't work too hard on tweaking it as I never intended to use it in that setup. So in my limited experience I would say it will probably look fantastic after making some adjustments. I know others have mentioned using the 4805 with HD DVD players and have been very pleased. If you watch any HD content with the 4805 you should know that it looks very good despite the scaling down to 480p.
