audio and video dropouts on hd channels

About every 15 minutes or so I get a series of audio dropouts, each one lasting about a second and lasting for about 20 seconds and also audio that sounds like mumbling that happens about 4-6 times per hour that lasts for about 3 seconds. I also will get video dropouts that happen about 8 times per hour. This only happens on high def channels. The equipment I have is the H20 receiver through Directv, Panasonic 500 42" plasma. The video is connected via hdmi and the audio is by optical connected to the Denon 3801
Please let me know how I can fix.

Since the H20 is a regular HD receiver, why did you post this in the DVR section? Or do you have the HR20-700 DVR?

The first thing D* support will tell you to do is unplug it. Do it. Wait a couple of minutes and plug it back in. All of their receivers except for a few models running Tivo software need to be re-booted occaisionally. Have you checked the signal strength on the HD transponders? That would be my second place to look. Finally, if you do have the HR20, then it could be other problems like their new software (buggy) or a bad drive.
