IPOD and RCA RTD207

I'm not sure if this is the correct place on the forum, but I hope so. I just bought a new RCA surround system, and it's got a USB connection on the front which is supposed to enable MP3 players (including iPods?) to play through the system. When I connect the two, the iPod goes in to "Do Not Disconnect" Mode, and the RCA system says loading, but it just continually says "loading", then refreshes and says "loading" again. Has anyone had experience with trying to get these two system to work, or had a similar experience with another system?

iPods are not recognizable as USB drives like some other MP3 players. Plus, if you use iPod specific (AAC, etc.) file formats, they won't play on non-iPod compatible systems. The best thing for you is to get a cheap USB flash drive (2GB < $100) and copy your MP3's onto it.

Thanks Jeff. That answers my question.
