New member has a question...

I have a vacation home where I will watch mainly regular DVD's about three months out of the year. I have cable there but I may not hook it up always but I still will want the option for HD.The viewing area will be about 5 to 6 feet to the set. From the forum ,I have gathered that the HD-A1 will do a good job upscaling the DVD's. The screen will be a 32". LCD's seem to have the most selections in the 32" size. I would like the best 32" HD available out there. Any suggestions???

If you don't intend on purchasing true "HD" dvd's, I wouldn't bother with the expense of an HD player (at this time anyway). For $150 you can get an Oppo that will upscale your current software and wait until the format wars have subsided.

The very best 32" LCD's on the market are:

Sharp Aquos LC-32D40U, LC-32D41U, LC-32D50U
Sony Bravia KDL-V32XBR1, KDL-V32XBR2

But if you want a truly phenominal set, take a look at the 37" Sharp Aquos LC-37D90U.
