Audio/Video Synch Problem

I've noticed recently that with certain DVD's, my dialogue is out of synch with the movie. My set-up is pretty standard: two month old Sony DVP-NS775V DVD player connected to an old Sony TV (S-Video) and running sound through a 6 month old Yamaha HTR-5740.
It's sort of weird because sometimes it's barely noticeable (Metallica: Some Kind of Monster for about 4 minutes) and other times it's out of control (Made - the entire movie). Then other times everything is perfect (Creepshow - whole movie). I saw another thread that mentioned Sony DVD players having this problem, but I'm hoping there's a less costly solution.
Can anyone suggest some fixes?

Most always if you hit stp then play again, it will be synced again. It is not that uncommon. But some players are certainly afflicted worse than others.
