I'm planning on making a few significant upgrades to my home theater very soon, most notably a proper surround sound receiver, the Onkyo TX-SR502. I've been watching DVD movies on my PS2 lately (if you can believe it, it's better than my DVD player

), so I'm thinking that it's time for an upgrade in that department, too. I was looking at the various upconverting DVD players, but decided that they're quite useless considering that my TV doesn't have a DVI input. My first choice for a progressive DVD player was the Pioneer DV-578A, which seems to be fairly well-received around here from what I can tell. I have noticed, though, that I can get the Onkyo DV-SP301 from Crutchfield with the Onkyo receiver for only $50. That seems like one hell of a deal, but I'm concerned as to how good that player actually
is. I don't really plan on listening to any SACDs or DVDA discs, so I'm only concerned with video and sound quality for DVD movies and the occasional audio/mp3 CD. Is the Onkyo worth the $50? Is the Pioneer $80 better? Is there a middleground that I'll be happier with? Thanks for the help!
(I'm new here. You may proceed to welcome me and shower me with gifts!
