Editing a dvd-recorder encoded disk on a PC?

Hi -

I would like to buy a dvd-recorder. I have most of my questions answered, courtesy of this fantastic forum.

One thing that I am still unsure about is whether or not one can take a dvd recorded on a stand-alone recorder and offload the content onto a PC for more editing. Is this possible? If so, is there a particular dvd-recording format that is considered user-friendly for this particular function?

Thanks!

I would go HEREand check out all their helpful tutorials etc.

I learned a BUNCH about DVD recording/editing from them.

Personally, I haven't done any editing from my old DVDR 75 Philips recorder, but have tinkered with video captures I've done via a PC video capture card.

Good luck in your quest!
