Why don't all dvd recorders have rear svideo inputs?

Most seem to have them in the front for cameras, but only the latest models seem to have them in the rear. I am actually looking for a black dvd recorder/vhs combo unit, specifically the LG & GO Video units. They are the only ones that I can find. The JVC unit has the svideo, but it is silver. Are the manufacturers going away from black?

My Panasonic E80 is well over a year old and has S-video inputs in the back. If you're only looking at VHS/DVD recorder combos, that's a much more limited selection.

Yes, that is what I am looking for, & it is limited even more because I want a black unit.
