So...how much should I spend for a DVD player?

Setup so far...
Mitsu 65413 big screen tv with HDTV from cable company....which is killer. The surround is an AVR330 with Polk Rti8's Csi3, and Rti4's.....with PSW505 sub. My DVD now is a combo vcr/dvd for 130 bucks. I don't need the vcr on this setup and can move the unit to another room so it will not go to waste. Seeing that this setup is primarily for movies and HDTV......what is a reasonable DVD for high quality image suitable for a 65 inch screen? How many bucks do I need for something that will do the trick? I'm overwhelmed with dvd players ranging from 40 to 1000++ that all have progressive scan. I would appreciate any comments...

With out a doubt....it depends Are you inclined to include any of the audio formats like DVD-A and SACD and does your receiver have the six inputs necessary for those types of software?

With that setup, I'd shoot for the $300-500 range. Maybe a Denon 2200?
