DV-563A DVD-A compatibility problems?

Anyone know what the deal is with this player and some new DVD-Audio titles from Warner, Rhino, Universal? A friend says he can't play Neil Young's Greendale, Brian Wilson's Live at the Roxy, T. Rex's Electric Warrior or Steely Dan's Gaucho and says he hears something about a firmware update from Pioneer. Supposedly it has something to do with a new copy protection routine on these discs ... ?

I was thinking about getting one of these for the price, but now I'm scared. Any chance a disc will be made available to consumers that fixes the problem? Anyone else not having these problems?

Everybody with this player is having these problems. I keep hearing that a firmware update is coming but haven't heard of anyone that has had it updated yet. I'm sure hoping we don't have to send it away to get it done since I'm not within a few hundred miles of a repair place, but it sounds like that's what is being set up.

Here's a little more info on this problem, particularly post #22 (and "Jimby" from Universal Music has also posted a few times in this particular thread): "Another kick in the groin for Pioneer 563A owners" at stevehoffman.tv.
