Burning a 6.4 gb DVD to a 4.7 gb DVD-R

My son just returned from a 5 year trip around most of the world. Using pro level camcorders and hundreds of hours of exposure, he finally got everything he wanted to save onto a 6.4 gb DVD. He told me to get DVD Shrink to reduce it to below 4.7, then burn it using either Roxio 6 or Nero 6. So, I've got the whole magilla on my h/d, but can't find a way to get it onto a DVD-R in a form playable on a non-computer DVD player connected to the TV. This is critical because he wants me to make copies for everybody in the family (most of whom are computer illiterate). I can't get in touch with him, 'cause he's off again for another x number of years. Help someone?

THe newest version of DVD shrink released a few days ago (version 3.1.x) has an auto burn feature. It looks for nero on your system and uses that to burn a disc right in the DVD shrink program. This should do what you need. The disc I have done will play on any of my stand-alone players.

Good Luck,
