Agree - Minor speed bump, but a nice boost on graphics. Too bad they didn't address the gloss screen.

If ram is cheap (and it is for iMacs) there's no reason to not use as much as possible - IMO

So, really, in the long run Parker didn't miss the boat by much.

I am so surprised to hear people complain about glossy screens,
though I hear the woes from time to time. Personally, I think the
glossy screen on the iMac is its finest attribute. I love working on
the iMac I bought my Mother because I find the colors and graphics
far more brilliant than my 30" flat screen.

I have more fun working on that iMac than I do on my Mac Pro. That
iMac is the most beautiful desktop I have ever had the pleasure of
using.

Ron, the gloss adds a bit of false contrast. People working with images need a non reflective surface.

Who's to say it will not become a standard for some types of panels, but I don't see the big LCD panel makers following Apple's iMac look just yet. Dell WFPs continue to refine a matte surface.
