Ditto what Michael said. Macsales has some benchmarks on their site re: the various configurations of RAM (matched vs. unmatched vs. more RAM). In general one can conclude:
1. Your best bang for buck is more RAM. The jump from 1-2-3+GB is the biggest impact on performance.
2. There is a minimal performance gain for matched pairs (but it is there on some/most of the benchmarks)
So if it's a choice of getting 2GB total matched pair, or 3GB unmatched, go with 3GB. 4GB matched is, obviously, the ultimate and it's not a huge price that Macsales is asking for. I went that route.
