iSquint-type Video Conversion Software for Windows?

Recently I started putting video files on my ipod and discovered Apple's proprietary hardware cannot play their proprietary software (Quicktime). Any recommendations for good (and cheap or free) software to convert .mov files to mpeg-4?

Two possibilities:
Apple - QuickTime - Tutorials - Creating Video for iPod

Squared 5 - MPEG Streamclip video converter for Mac OS X

Thanks Dave. I went with Streamclip because it's free and I only had a handful of files to convert. I've never really cared for Quicktime and didn't really want to pay for QT Pro if I could get around it.
