Ron:
I had already upgraded to 1.1.2.
In any event, don't forget that sanctioned native apps will be coming early next year (they won't be affected by future iPhone software upgrades); plus there are already hundreds of sanctioned web apps available.
Here's a link to a list of the currently available iPhone web apps:

A few of my
favorite iPhone web apps include (and please remember that these links are to pages/apps specially formatted for the iPhone's browser with native "ajax" support - and will therefore look much more visually appealing on it):
TomatoMeter - Specially formatted version of the "Rotten Tomatoes" Movie Review site for the iPhone:

This app is *great* when you're browsing for bargain DVD's/HD-DVD's at Wal-Mart!
SportsTap - Just tap the buttons to keep up with Scores and more from your favorite sport:

Tip Calculator - Admittedly, after the popular Seinfield ep that revolved around calculating tips on your PDA, this should have been a native app included by Apple!

And then, there's the
iLounge for the iPhone - This site includes News and Reviews of accessories and third party apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch:

Need a good
Chess Game for the iPhone?
There's a version of
Shredder Chess for the iPhone that's currently free:

All of these customized iPhone web apps look much more visually appealing on the iPhone than they do on a PC or Mac web browser. And none of them will be affected by future iPhone software upgrades!
