What Mac websites should I read?

Back when I was a Windows user, I frequented sites like WinSuperSite, AnandTech, etc. for useless tech information I had no ability to use

So now that I'm a Mac user, where should I go for my overdose of pointless tech, software info and rumors? (besides this forum, of course)

I've already got my MacWorld subscription, so you know I'm serious

I visit www.macrumors.com quite often. Also www.macbytes.com is good as well. If you want a place to track software releases, then http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/updByCat.php is the best place to visit.

macrumors does it all.

ilounge is good too.

but lots of those PC websites are on maximizin and optimizing this and that. With a mac..... these don't really exist. (well, to a limit) it's just that intuitive.

I visit MacUpdate daily just to see what new software
is out there.

In addition to MacWorld which is an excellent magazine, I love
MacLife, which might even be better! I would recommend a subscription
to both...really!

Funny. I currently have subscriptions to PC World, Computer Shopper and
Maximum PC. When they arrive I just toss them in the trash. I get bored
looking through them realizing how inferior that Windows experience once was. Yiccch!

Dave, you hooked? Is the Mac a new "awakening" in your computer
experience?

Thanks for the recommendations. I've been reading the ArsTechnica Mac reporting for the past year, as I waited for the new hardware. Great site. Many of the other websites are new to me and hopefully I'll have time this weekend check them out.

I didn't know about MacLife, the magazine. I'll check it out when I'm next at the book store.

The best thing so far about MacWorld is the Help Desk (?) section -- I need to learn all the tips and tricks that are second nature on Windows.

I usually read TUAW.com -- it aggregates a lot of stuff from the other sites. I used to read MacAddict a looooooong time ago.

And I'm sorry to tell you that you missed out on the very best Apple website ever, since it's no longer being updated: As The Apple Turns. Smarmy and hilarious, it treated every event in the Apple world as a plot point in an ongoing soap opera.

I suppose it wouldn't be as much fun now -- especially since no one is calling Apple "beleaguered" anymore.

Dave, I just got my new issue today and it's a pretty damn good
example as to why this magazine deserves a place right next to
MacWorld. Be certain to look for it in the bookstore. It
is a great magazine for the fact that it's very pictorial. It gives
detailed explanations of how to do most anything on your Mac. I
think after a read you'll be a subscriber.
