Why does YouTube look like this for me...

This is a printout of YouTube's main page and for about a month now most of the text on the screen appears as little squares?...

It wasn't like this before and then one day it started looking like this and I can't seem to fix it.

Thanks.

Re: Why does YouTube look like this for me...

Usually that's from having the wrong character set, but it's a problem with the page, not the visitor's browser. It would look wrong for anyone viewing it. Since that's not the case, I'm not sure what's going on.

What browser are you using? See if the site looks normal with another browser.

Do you get that problem viewing any other sites?

I've seen erratic problems with YouTube the past week, including improper front page rendering. Does your view always look like that, or sporadically does it look right?

I'm using my Internet Explorer and no other site I visit looks like that. I can still view videos with no problems and i'm familliar enough with Youtube to know what certain buttons are even though I can't read them.

It seems to always look like that.

That's not the problem I was having then.

Have you tried FireFox to see if the problem persists?

Thanks, Dave, I just tried Firefox and it appears just fine, i'll just have to use that when I go to Youtube from now on.

Try doing a manual virus and spyware scan just to make sure it's not some malicious piece of code causing problems in IE.

Re: Why does YouTube look like this for me...

John, it looks to me like you somehow got on the wrong Site setting. In Firefox, look along the very top right, and you'll see Site: with a flag following it. In that same space in IE, click on it and select Global and see if that helps. I only suggest looking in Firefox first, because if your screen capture is from that part of the screen, I don't see the flag showing up so you need to see where to click in FF.

Re: Why does YouTube look like this for me...

I'm glad to help. I don't like it when things stop working and I have to use a different browser for one application, so I know it can be annoying.
