Re: 2008 MLB Thread
I gotta tell ya...the whole thing seems like it could only have been manufactured by the two teams to drum up interest in their "rivalry." Of course we know that they wouldn't do that because they don't need to. As Cindy Adams would write: "Only in NY, kids. Only in NY."
Almost harkens back to the supposed trade of DiMaggio for Williams until the two owners (Yawkey & MacPhail) woke up with hangovers the next morning and decided better of it!
There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

How could there have been a trade, Mike? Dom DiMaggio and Ted Williams played for the same team.

Re: 2008 MLB Thread
I can't believe how our 136 million dollar man (Soriano) has turned into a china doll after signing for the big bucks. He had two significant leg injuries last year (a hamstring and a quad), and in tonight's game he pulled his calf after doing his asinine "hop" prior to catching a routine fly ball.
He has lost virtually all of his speed and base stealing ability, and now will likely be headed to the DL. It's looking more and more like he has been on the juice. It's just inexplicable for these guys to be pulling muscles making routine plays.

He's playing Moises Alou's old position, right? Maybe there's something in the grass there.
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.
"What? Since when was this an energy ball movie?" - Overheard during a screening of Takashi Miike's Dead Or Alive
"What the hell religion are you people?" - Overheard during the Captain Marvel serial at SF/29
"If I feel even one bullet hit me, I will rip your lungs out through your nostrils!" - Ron Silver as himself, "Heat Vision And Jack"

Maybe there's a jersey buried underneath it.

Re: 2008 MLB Thread
It was learned today that Miguel Tejada is two years older than everyone thought. We'll see whether the Astros rip up his contract.

Re: 2008 MLB Thread
This must be MLB in Bizarro World.
The Devil Rays and Orioles are tied for first place in the AL East. And their next game will be against each other, for sole possession.
