Another Internet scam

Greetings All!
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this one.
My Wife found 2 charges on our last MC statement:

UMGbuyersedge phone#888 326 7156 and
UMGmyadvisorcall#888 873 1669 both for $11.99
asked me if I had ordered anything over the net etc.
Told her no.
Called up the CC company to find out what the charges were for-they claimed the last time my Wife ordered from the net, She had signed up for something or other

Went to Google and typed in umg advisor-
Several threads came up about this scam

Check your statements! Get on the phone asap,as it appears this charge might happen monthly.

Our card is being cancelled for fraudelent use,and a new card being issued.

Art as expression-Not as market campaigns-Will still capture our imaginations.

Re: Another Internet scam

We cancelled our cards over a fraudulent charge from a company in Russia(!). It was only $30, but we, and the credit card company, did not want to take the chance.

Scam or fine print that wasn't read at the time?

Re: Another Internet scam

Just wanted to give a "heads up" and make some folks aware of this-so they wouldn't have to go through hassles that they don't need,

I have posted this on at least half a dozen forums, with responses of thanks,
and things like this:

"Yep, those deals have been around for a while. I think the last time I saw one was when I ordered some clothes on line, but I've seen it on several sites.

After you click the confirmation page, you'll get a summary page for your order and It will say, at the bottom, 'would you like to save $10 on your next purchase? - Click here'. What it doesn't tell you, (at least in a clear way), is that as soon as you click that, they take your info from your order and charge you a fee (I think it was $10 or $15), and sign you up for some kind of reward program. My mom did this once. I think it was called 'something'-Advantage and she had to call and get the charge removed.

Just remember, don't ever click on anything that asks if you want to save a few bucks on your next order. There should be another place to click that just allows you to 'continue shopping'. If not, just close the page."

I just knew one of the forums would have an ASSHOLE like lockwood-
Don't contribute to the thread,if you've got nothing helpful to say.

This is why I don't post often on many sites-Complete DICKS like lockwood!

let the mods ban me if they wish(for my rough language)-I was trying to help some people out!
