I've seen a couple of similar news items/notices over the years. For example:
Meeting of the Spiritualist Society to discuss using the spirits of the dead to predict the future cancelled due to the sudden death of the speaker.
My personal favourite isn't about spiritualism/astrology, but is a similar example of 'should have been able to foresee it' [warning - if you don't have a morbid sense of humour, stop reading right now]. We had an unbelievably patronising talk from a health and safety manager who told us the most basic information on electrical safety that a six year old would know. That evening he want home and was electrocuted to death in an accident that the coroner described as due to his unbelievable stupidity in failing to obey the most basic safety precautions...
