country music fans please help me;

Next month my older sister turns 50. My family is planning a huge party for her. I'm charged with creating a slideshow using this;

I've used the software before and it is really great. What I need help with is the music. My sister loves country music. I've never really followed the country music scene. (Nor any other for the last 10 years) I haven't any idea what artists my sister enjoys. I only know she likes country music. Probably anything from the 70s through today.

I am hopeful that some of the country music fans here could help with a few song suggestions that I could use for this slide show.

I don't know if it is any help but the theme is going to be sort of a "this is your life" with pictures of her from her toddler years through today. She is an airforce veteran, enjoys boating, reading and wine. She has no children. I gave her the nickname 'little sister' when I was about 14 and became taller than her; she calls me 'baby brother'.

Try this site for ideas.

Of course I found a lot of songs by
Hank Williams Sr. and anytime someone calls Hank "Sr." I really doubt they know anything about country music.

I'd say anything by Garth Brooks would be appropriate. His music covers just about the entire 90's. The song "The Dance" talks about going through life and all its experiences, good or bad, and being thankful looking back on one's life. I can see closing out the slide show with that one. Are you going to show her with her husband/sig. other? Use his song "Shameless". What about pics with friends? Another Garth song, "Friends In Low Places" might get a laugh.

I know enough to know I don't know enough!

low places - heh - good idea. I like the dance also but I think one garth song is enough. I'll have to check out Hank Sr.
