NJ trailer laws

Now that I have a Hidden Hitch installed on my Subaru, does anybody know of a good reference on the NJ laws regarding lights, safety chain, etc. that kind of stuff. If I was to pull a gas splitter, are lights required to be used when travelling or a red flag thing? I ordered a taillight kit but it hasn't arrived yet. Just curious if I need to have my kit when I pick up the splitter. I also notice that the light kit is listed as optional which leads me to think it might not be law for small items... Actually I recall not seeing lights on some very small towables like cement mixers...

Re: NJ trailer laws

I grew up in South Jersey.

I was not aware of such a concept as "law."

Re: NJ trailer laws

I grew up in South Jersey also. (Vincentown area) My understanding is that if the trailer does not have lights, you can not use it after dark and your Subaru's rear lights must be visible.
