I watched this launch live on HDNET. Shuttle launch in HD is awesome. One incredible shot was from a camera in the launch tower. I think it was called the 'white room'. The camera sat just a few feet inside the OPEN doorway looking out as the shuttle blasted past just a few feet away. Incredible.

I was at Disney world back in 01' and watched the launch from the top of the Contemperary Hotel. Amazing that you could see it that far away, and neat to see coming from someone who lives in Michigan.

I think HDNET is going to replay the launch this evening (not sure what time) for anyone who missed it.

My family and I lived in Jacksonville Beach for a couple of years during high school and I could see the launches from my bedroom window. I did drive down one time with a friend to see a launch "up close." It was pretty cool.

I watched it from the back yard, on the other side of the state.

Chris

What does it sound like from back there?

Use the SPL db meter set to c weighting!

From what I have heard on a documentary, it’s 130db! On the inside of the Space Shuttle, and on the outside it’s the complete opposite!
