Ah shit. And here I was thinking I'd be the first kid on my block to post the thread.

I'm always fascinated by stuff like this.

Amazing stuff - but why the delay in announcing ? This was done in 2004, and I still haven't seen the full video posted or shown anywhere. Doesn't make sense that a development of this magnitude was essentially "quashed"... my conspiracy senses are in overdrive...

I also read that. This is a huge discovery of one of the most elusive creatures in the world.

I also wonder about the 2004 date though.

They finished their research, they wrote a paper, they waited for it to get reviewed, it got published. They followed the "normal" route for publishing research instead of just announcing it.

high resolution ipod featuring dlp hd programming is the best, almost as good as playstation 2 with wega windows media on a super cd! ps2 and tivo do dolby tv with broadband hdtv!

Hmmm... seems to miss the hysteria we consistenly associate with big news. Not sure I like these kind of "normal" folk.

Hopefully the video will be available soon !

That's just plain cool. I think after seeing "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" it made me a little terrified of giant squids.

Terrified? Check out the last paragraph of the below article on BBC....

The giant squid is by no means the largest known. Several other species, including the colossal squid Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni, are thought to grow larger.

Awesome! I guess the Japanese scientists were really hungry - too bad they didn't catch it - it would have fed the entire crew!

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Gameshow host: "Is taking Viagra kosher during Passover dinner?"
Whoopee Goldberg: "Not if it leads to pork."
Kermit the Frog: "Hey, that's my line!"
