Big news around town here in the Washington DC area is the baby panda that was born in the past month at the National Zoo. They just managed to get a few minutes to examine him yesterday. One blog I read points out that when they're born, baby pandas look "bizarre and evil," as demonstrated in this picture of twin pandas who were just born in China:

I guess I'll try to see him at some point, but, you know, it's gonna be a zoo over there with all these people waiting in line.
