I know....it has "The Birds" written all over it.

On my way to work this morning, I was attacked by birds....twice!! As I crossed the street to the San Francisco Main Library, I hear the guy collecting the returned books and the library janitor talking about birds attacking pedestrians on this particular stretch of the sidewalk, which was lined by trees. After hearing that, I stayed away from the trees and walked close to the building, knowing the birds are probably protecting their nest. Sure enough, the guy walking ahead of me got hit on the head. He turned around quickly but the bird was gone. That's when I got attacked!! I stumbled forward as I got hit from behind. I recovered knowing what exactly hit me. I was thinking that should be it since there was considerable distance separating me and the tree I just walked by. Less than 10 steps later, I got hit from behind again. I quickly walked by the next tree and escaped further attacks.

I am now traumatized and can't concentrate on work....

Carry a tennis racket and start swinging if you see them coming.

Let me guess. Swallows? Yup. We got 'em here too. They even divebomb the cats and chase the crows. They sure are brave! They swarm around me when I'm outside and attempt to poop on me.

Years ago when I lived in the country, we had a cat that used to get dive-bombed by birds. Until the day one bird got overly confident and the cat leaped up and snatched the bird right out of the air.

I think the birds were more careful after that.
