My Best Friend is An Inspiration!

Hi all! I really wanted to share this with all of you.

One of my best friends was 600lbs last Christmas. He decided to turn his life around and is now 558lbs. He is doing it with a change of lifestyle and cycling...yes, cycling. His story will inspire all of us. Check out his blog at http://mikabike.blogspot.com/

Good luck to your friend. Keep up the biking.

Wow.. good news!

I was just thinking this morning I should really take advantage of the extra daylight and get up early to do some riding before I go to work... now I know I will.

Good for him! Be sure to let him know how he has inspired you, sooner or later his weight loss will plateau and the more support he has, the more likely he'll kick it up and keep on the program.

Probably very good for your friend since he needs very low stress exercise.

For most people, cycling is the worst form of exercise for weight loss ever. A bicycle is one of the most efficient machines on the planet. Most people will tool around the neighborhood for 1/2 hour or so at 10mph which barely raises the metabolism.

The only way to get really fit on a bike is to ride fast enough that you're working as hard as if you were running. That typically means 17-20mph on level ground for an hour several times a week.

Yeah he knows how inspiring he is. The feedback he gets from complete strangers gives him a pretty big boost.
