Paula Abdul Convicted of Hit and Run

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/03/24/abdul.ap/index.html

Here is the most ridiculous statement from Paula's lawyer:

Quote:
"Unbeknownst to Paula, there was some minor contact between the tire of her car and another vehicle on the roadway," said a statement from her lawyer, Neil E. Meyer. "Paula immediately took full responsibility."

Has anyone here EVER hit another car and not known it? And this was no parking lot incident. This happened on the freeway.

True. But I'm wondering how much a clip it was.. if you're moving at freeway speeds, and you clip another car and do $775 in damages.. Christ... I wonder if the other person was driving a POS.. just replacing a bumper on my windstar was $2k.

What exactly would a tire come in contact with? Unless she's got racing tires on her car, the width from tire to tire edge is less than the actual body width, and the same with the front to rear depth.
