There's some amazing video at MSNBC...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7286853/

Quote:
While pigs are not yet flying, coconuts are walking and clumps of algae are tiptoeing — sort of. The coconuts and clumps of algae are really octopuses walking on two arms and using their six non-walking arms to camouflage themselves as plant material in order to hide from lurking predators.

Pretty amazing... their gait looks very human-like.

Octopuses are fascinating. They're very inteligent as far as sea creatures go. I remember watching a PBS special where they'd set up mazes and puzzles and the octopus could figure them all out.

That is way cool.

Did anyone else laugh at the mental image this conjurs? It's like the old cartoon device of using a barrel and walking when the bad guy isn't looking.

Is it "octopuses" or "octopi"?

According to Merriam-Webster, either is acceptable. You may get into arguments with pedants over which is more correct.
