Filming with a XL1s in a walk in Deep Freeze

So what problems am I going to encounter?

I thought about putting the camera in the locker a few minutes before the actual filming begins so the lens won't fog up.

I plan on keeping the tape and batteries warm until I use them.

I also plan on only filming for about 15 minutes at a stretch to keep the actors warm.

Any other technical stuff I have overlooked? Please enlighten me

Thanks!!!

Blu,

I have never shot video in a freezer, but I have had to take digital pictures in one. My batteries would get too cold within 10 minutes. I would suggest getting several of those cold weather hand warmer packs and attaching them to the batteries and the camera to keep it warm.

As long as you give the cameras some time to adjust to the temp you will be totally fine. Just keep lots of warm batteries on hand.

I have shot outside in the cold winter many times with Panasonic DVX100's and there's been no problems - just shorter battery life.
