And awaaaaay we go...
Seattle already in trouble. What do they have? 13 unsigned guys? Hasslebeck, Alexander, or Jones...who gets the tag? And, no front office guys on the payroll. What a mess!

Cowboys feel set at QB, which probably makes their fans queasy...like me. The good news...the draft. Parcells is good at the draft. As I understand, the 'Boys have no shot at Antrell Rolle (we need a CB desperately), but might get Braylon Edwards and another pass rusher. I could live with that.
Quentin...that's not trouble. My other team is the Titans. THEY are in trouble Major cap woes, a brilliant QB who might just be unable to physically play, and a fairly old team. They still have a good coach, and a workable nucleus, but their division is shaping up to be among the best in the league (HOU...improving, JAX...improving, COLTS...need I say more?).
Still, everyone has hope now
Take care,
Chuck

The Raiders need an every down running back...as bad as the defense was last season no defensive need is as pressing as running back.
On defense if they still wish to use the 3-4 they need linebackers that preferably are good. Danny Clark is a start.
Resigning Porter would also be a high priority I hope.
Seattle has 16 unsigned free agents and they are still trying to construct a front office.

The Chiefs have one more try with this team in my opinion. If they don't seriously improve their defense with a few FA's and the draft they are finished in this incarnation.

Holmgren doesn't look that smart without Ron Wolfe and Favre.
Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you\'ll give and tears you\'ll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

In other NFL news, it looks like Red McCombs Found his sucker $645 million for the Vikings? Considering the stadium they play in and the struggles to get a new one...I'm not thinking so, and they say athletes are overpaid...McCombs bought the team for $275 million in 1998. I hope for the sake of the league that Fowler comes off as more stable than McCombs did, reportedly he raised a ruckus in the owner meetings last march directed at the comissioner. Apparently he wasn't happy when the highlight video got around to showing the catch that knocked them out of the playoffs...yelling about how Nate Pool had one foot out of bounds.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Seattle. There are some talented players there that may become available to other teams.
The Lions will be looking for help at safety, interior offensive line and tight end. The big story, though, will be at QB. Mariucci has already said he wants to open up the position to competition, so Detroit will sign a recognizable name. I just hope it's not Kurt Warner.

Doesn't Dallas draft 11th? If so, Edwards may not be around. However, that may be a good thing for Cowboy fans. Braylon can be a very frustrating player to watch -- he makes the incredibly difficult catches, yet drops the easy ones.

Pats' goals:
1) Keep Pioli
2) Re-sign $ to a long term deal
3) Re-sign Kevin Faulk
4) Enjoy the off season
5) Win #4
6) Cheer Weis on as he brings ND back to glory.
7) Wish Romeo mediocre luck
8) Draft for secondary so Troy can get a break working on becoming a receivers coach/receiver.
9) Make sure to keep Manning's commercial and the Steeler's song for bush league tactics.
10) Get the "New England Edition" versions of AFC Championship and Pats v Colts games on iTunes
If you want a piece of history, Leonard Myers' Pats v Rams Superbowl ring is up for sale on ebay. Sure looks nice except for having his name on the side.

Speaking of possible future Lions quarterbacks, Browns release Garcia
There have been rumors that Detroit would be interested in Garcia if he were released, since he played for Mooch in San Fran.
