Wallmart reduces Monthly Fee

Good news Wallmart DVD Club has reduced its monthly fee to 12.97 plus tax.

I wonder if the others will follow

Just joined them. They seem to have pretty much the same stuff as any other online rental company. It works just like Netflix. You only get 2 at a time for that price though.

It figures, a good news Wal-Mart thread only has a few posts in it. If it were a bad news Wal-Mart thread, it would be on page 15 by now.

I just switched from netflix to blockbuster online. BB is only 15 for 3 at once, and you get 2 coupons for in store rentals a month, which can be used for games. Since games are 6.99 each, those two coupons pay for the service as I see it.

Since we're in Georgia, where the Wallmart distribution center is, we've been averaging about 2 movies a week.

I think they have additional options where for a couple of bucks more they will let you have 3-4 movies out at time.

Well it looks like Netflix is doomed. They are already predicting no profit growth for this upcoming year.

Wal Mart can afford to lose money in the short term as DVD rentals are far from their core business. Netflix on the other hand needs DVD rentals.

Maybe. They lowered their prices to compete, and won't lower them again so they're still ~2 higher than the rest. Both NF and BB have a distro center here in denver, so I get 3 day turnaround on both.
