Spiders - do they creep you out?

http://www.termite.com/spider-identification.html

The meanest creatures seem to live in Australia.

Those mouse spiders look extra mean.

I don't kill all spiders, just the biggest hairy ones.

All work and no play is good for you......helps build character.

Good god, what the hell is that/!??!

Like the face huggers in Alien. Only worse.

edit: is that pic a fake? check this out:

http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mcamelspider.html

According to this they are no bigger than a hand, and if I'm not mistaken in that pic they are way way larger.

Now now...don't be putting solifugids like that in with spiders

Camel spiders are not spiders, nor are they scorpions like some of their other common names imply. They are in their own order Solifugid.

Here's one from the US:

(BTW, I think the 'spiders' are being held very close to the camera - the info I found says the body is 2" and the legspan is 5" )

If that doesn't tell you the war was a bad idea, I don't know what will.

On the other hand, the people who keep them as pets are probably jumping up and down with joy over the idea of easy imports

The picture is real... Some of the commentary that has accompanied it as it has made its way around the internet (they run 25 miles per hour, jump 10 feet in the air, and devoure your legs while you sleep after injecting you with an anesthetic to keep you from waking up) is all BULLSHIT...

Why dont you marry one then!!!

In all seriousness, I think you missed the point... You can call them "Spiders" or "Sulifugids" or "Flying Freakin' Squirrels" for all I care... THEYRE STILL DAMNED CREEPY!
