Do you walk faster than everyone else?

I walk fast. It's not that I am in a hurry or anything, it's just that I walk faster than most people. I end up passing people wherever I am. In the mall, grocery store, wherever.

So, I always end up walking real fast behind someone, slow down quickly and then pass them. I get a little concious of it since I think the people I pass must be saying to themselves "What's his hurry?" or "That was rude" or "What's the matter, I don't walk fast enough for you?"

Part of the problem is that I am 6'4" and cover ground pretty quickly. Does anyone else have this "problem"? I don't drive like this.

LOL, I have the exact same problem (and it doesn't help that I'm 6'2") It drives my wife nuts when we're out walking around or shopping. I'm not doing it on purpose, it just happens to be the speed I feel comfortable walking at.

Walk, fast, drive, think, work.

Yup.

I am also a fast walker. In fact, I was just thinking about this today while in Costco. I kept getting stuck behind slowpokes. Most of my friends can't keep up with me. I prefer shopping by myself, as I don't like to lolly-gag. Zip, zip, zip. I get very frustrated by people who fart around (not one of my best qualities). I have long legs which helps.

I'm the exact opposite. At 5'0", I can only move my legs so fast before it's uncomfortable. Most people think my normal pace is just too slow.

I don't drive, so I've gotten into the habit of walking at a fast clip. I've had to learn to slow down considerably when with the wife at the mall.

And you believe, at heart, everyone's a killer...

I don't mind the fast or slow walkers - I mind the people that stand (walk slow or zig-zag) in the middle of an aisle (talking, thinking, or just standing) oblivious to anyone around them or the fact that there are better places to do that than in a narrow aisle.

Makes me wish life were more like hockey...

Cool. I'm glad I'm not the only one. What got me thinking about it today was when I was walking through a casino on my way to a restaurant for lunch. It's just that at my normal pace, I feel like I am running over all of the old folks!

I'm 6'3", and I can't stand how slow everyone else seems to be walking. What's really frustrating is that my wife is just barely 5'. Even at my slowest (comfortably, non-exaggerated slow walk), I still walk faster than her.
