What is WRONG with you people????

"Bloom County" is back starting Nov. 23, and no one says a word about it on this forum?? Are you too concerned with such trifles as the state of the world?? Or more serious subjects, like the state of silica packets? Plain out of touch? Or is it simply that no one cares that one of the greatest cartoon strips of all time is going to be back after a ten-year absence?

Wake up world!! Opus is back!!

Bloom County was a splendid strip. I stil have my 'Billy and the boingers' record.

After it was pulled they came out with another strip - I think it was called 'outland' by the same author. I never really thought it was any good, though it included many of the same characters.

BC had some splendid strips, the anxiety closet, the star trek wheelchair and Bill the Cat being some of my favorites.

Ah, Bloom County, that brings back such fond memories of South Campus, Vet School, the Creamery for a quick lunch, and the only reason for reading The Red & Black.

Actually, it isn't Bloom County. This is Berkeley Brethed's new strip called "Opus". It doesn't necessarily mean that the Bloom County crew will also be back. Remember that the strip he did after Bloom County called Outland only featured some of the BC characters.

In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to the new strip! Hopefully it will be available online just as the classic Bloom County strips are.

Yeah, Berke Breathed was at a book signing here recently and spoke about the new Opus strip and, funnily enough, said that, while OUTLAND started off with no resemblance to Bloom Co., it bascially ended up with pretty much the same characters towards the end, b/c they wouldn't leave him alone.

He also said that OPUS begins with him and his mom in Antarctica and the first thing to do is to get him back 'here' from 'there'.
