Places That Deal Heavy In Checks
Hi guys, I have this business project where I need to know B2C (business to consumer) transactions that are cash and check heavy; i.e. business that see a lot of checks come through on a daily basis. Some exaples I have are grocery stores, jiffy lubes, best cuts, drug stores, book stores. Can you guys help me brainstorm some more ideas? thanks!

dry cleaners are very cash heavy. I don't think I've ever found one that will take a credit card. Most take checks though.
Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof.
He was quickly joined by a dwarf dressed as a nun.

Humm the ONLY place I ever use cash these days is at a fast food place. Since I got my check card and online banking I never use checks.
I remember using checks to pay all those bills though. I don't know if they count but I bet most people use checks to pay for cable, utility bills, credit card bills, car insurance, car payment, etc... How about an obvious one, Banks.

Anything that caters primarily to women. Women love the checks.

I don't understand why merchants still allow checks at all. Debit cards should have made them a thing of the past by now - at least at retail establishments. Nothing is more annoying than being in line behind a bunch a check-writers at the grocery store or Target. It slows everyone down.

Because many of the older generation, as well as some technophobes, refuse to give up paper checks. My parents have never used their ATM cards, let alone a debit card at a store.
The only thing I ever write them for these days is utilities and occasional odd bills like magazine subscriptions. Oh, and at Costco where they don't take Visa/MC check cards and my soon-to-be-former bank charges me a fee if I use my PIN to make a debit card purchase.
Small business owners write a ton of checks (to vendors, employees, utilities, miscellaneous).

Now there's a winning comment.
For the record, it's been a good 6 months since I've written my last check. I lived alone for years and rarely wrote more than 2 checks a month.

But they really do!...Actually, it's not that they all love to write checks, it's just that men almost NEVER write checks at the store, so it seems like most all women write checks, it's merely a case of-if a check is being written out in a store, 99 times out of 100, it's a woman.
Back to the topic: Not that it deals with checks, but PayPal works in conjunction with your checking account.
