I keep getting literature about the "sleep number" bed. You know the one that has tunable firmness using air pockets to sleep on. Anyone have one these? If so what do you think?

And just to answer my own question - pillowtop Serta something or other. Comfy but thinking of going from the queen to a king.

I'll let you know soon I just ordered a new bedroom suit and new mattresses. I forgot the name but they are had a great feel in store. They were kinda pricy but I think they will be worth it.

Thanks, you reminded me that it's late and I need to go to bed!

6" natural latex foam base (each 3" layer customized hardnesses) ($600 or so)
3" organic cotton/wool futon topper. ($400)

I have never slept in a better bed. I've tried Select Comfort, I've slept on really good hotel beds, sertas, etc. and on every trip, my wife and I can't wait to get home to our bed. Check out your local futon store, they might set these kinds of things up. That's where we got our bed. The foam alone is a great bed. I have a tempur-pedic pillow, which I really like, and I don't know how the TP mattresses sleep, but I've heard that they are really good. They are a closed foam, though, so they won't breathe like wool or latex foam will. (Maybe if you had holes in it...)

ps: I did always want Tempur-Pedic after reading Neuromancer... seemed cool and cyberpunk. It would have to be pink, though...

For the last while, I sleep downstairs, on the floor, with kid #1, while my wife sleeps upstairs on a bed with kid #2. As soon as we can convince kid #1 that this room is no longer scary, I can of course, return to sleeping in a bed

I've got one of those memory foam mattress pads on my bed. As an insomniac, it's been a lifesaver.

I sleep on a old mattress on the floor with no boxspring or anything. I would like to upgrade to a nice bedroom suite but that would cut into my HT and computer upgrade allowance.

I have always had severe back problems ever since the age of 12, and beds have always bothered my back even more. I tried the most expensive hard beds/soft beds and nothing seemed to make any difference. Finally, I tried a water-bed and I've been using one ever since. Now my back doesn't hurt as much, and it's EXTREMELY comfortable to sleep on. BTW, I have the wavy kind...now they make stiff water-beds, but I wouldn't want one of those.

I have a Tempurpedic bed. It is really nice in the winter, because it tends to trap heat. It is really helpful for my very-slightly gimped back too.

I love this bed. Best I've had. However, if you live in a hot climate, it may be wise to use less blankets!

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Gameshow host: "Is taking Viagra kosher during Passover dinner?"
Whoopee Goldberg: "Not if it leads to pork."
Kermit the Frog: "Hey, that's my line!"
