Unbeleivable...40 peices of junk mail...

If I where checking my AOL account and found this there, I wouldn't be surprised at all. It's the address I use to sign up for Bulliten Boards, news letters, and what not.

But on my prodigy address, it's a new low. I really miss the Prodigy Spam Sheild Feature. That thing worked so good, all of those 40 peices of junk mail would have been deleted so only the good email got through. Only problem is, when they got bought out by Yahoo, the Spam Sheild feature was replaced by this inferior version I'm using now..

Doe sanyone think AOL's war against SPAM will actually culminate in anything?

I don't know why the people behind Spam Sheild didn't just sell it as a seperate service.

Spam will never go away. But one thing to check if you haven't deleted them already, see if any of those junk emails have attachments. If they do, they could be viruses sent out from an infected machine.

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

Would it be feasible to outlaw Spam?

Some of it verges on harassment. A few months ago I started to receive some porn spam occasionally. Now it's a once a day thing, and I'll obviously have to cancel my email address that is affected by it. For more innocent people than I, this could be deeply upsetting.

When I check Properties of the messages, I see they are coming from such and such addresses. Can the info in Properties allow identifying real people or corporations so they could be charged with harassment?

My other (less likely?) proposal would be to consider taxing SPAM. Say, 1 cent per e-mail sent, with the proceeds being used to help eliminate pop-up ads on the Internet.

Personally I think anything should be considered to eliminate the Alan Raskys of the world, and their aggravating efforts to litter the planet with irritations.

I recently tried to opt out from a mailing list and, after entering my address, I get a message saying my "brute attack" has been noted and I could face five years in prison and a five thousand dollar fine.

Somebody really needs to have their eyes gouged out over this all this SPAM.

Here's are some things MSN recommends.

8 Ball gave it a 9:
Yo, Martin and Will are my boys, you know what I\'m saying? They make jokes I understand. The car chase is dope! I give it a 9 but I\'m still 8 Ball.

I find programs like Mail Washer work the best because they allow you to bounce any message back so the spammer thinks the address is not valid.

ThomasC, Alan Rasky is an infamous spammer, who was sending about 650,000 emails an hour, and became very rich. However, he was targeted by anti-spam hackers, and some sort of rough justice has been meted out to him. I was just reading a long newspaper article a few days ago, one of several I've come across. On line, this is one of the first 10 hits from a Google search for Alan Rasky :
