Digital Camera

I need a 512mb Compact Flash card type I. I'd like it to be low batt consumption and pretty fast.

What do you guys suggest?

Would a new camera, like the Canon S400 take advantage of the fast speed cards?

I am getting confussed with this speed of the cards... Do I need something like this?

Does the camera even write that fast?

GO here: http://www.lexarmedia.com/digfilm/index_cf.html

and then click on specifications on the left side menu. It will show you how much power and how fast the Lexar CF cards can transfer data anyways..

I've been doing a lot of research on digital cameras and I have decided on an Olympus C-730UZ with the new XD picture card. Olympus and Figifilm have released the XD memory together with Toshiba making the cards. The new card is much smaller (.8"X1"X.07" and weighs 2g). From what I have read the XD is much faster with write speeds over 3MB/sec compared to 2.6 for the fastest CF. Memory storage is supposed to be more secure compared to CF and SmartMedia and capacity is 256MB right now with 512MB to be released soon and they have the capability to make an 8GB XD card. Its just another option to look into if you want the newest stuff on the market.
