Where can I find a chabu-dai?

I've seached the Internet high and low. Where can I find a chabu-dai? It's basically a japanese coffee table. But usually is used a main dining table, as well. No chairs though. Chabu-dai sit very low to the ground and everyone sits on the floor.

Scott.

The chabu-dai isn't "basically a Japanese coffee table" but rather as you already stated a dinner table.

I've read that in Japan the chabu-dai isn't used that much anymore as more and more people prefer the Western style dinner table.

The Internet is full of pictures and descriptions, why not just build your own?

No such luck at all on ebay... I'm disappointed. You can find *everything* on ebay!

I may need to resort to building my own. I even called a few places locally but either they a.) Didn't know what I was talking about or b.) Had no way of getting one in stock via special order.

Weird.

Scott.

I imagine it would cost a fortune to ship, though.

I found something on ebay, too. Since we can't post live auctions, just do a search for "japanese low table". There is one that is maple and BIN $545.00.
