What happens if you simply play a source tuner/cd/dvd/etc. without doing the calibration?

How far into the setup does it get? Right front, center, etc.

Have you double checked your speaker wires at both the 805 and the speaker? If even one strand is touching, the 805 could protecting itself from a short circuit.
