Is my Room Size too Small?

Ok I have attached two scenerios for my home theater. As you can see I will be developing my basement with a small bedroom and bathroom (that already has plumbing roughed in). The problem is that I am trying to make the room rectangular and there is a beam that drops down......which will stick out since I will be drywalling the ceiling. So scenerio 1 is were I go for the biggest room I can and have a wall just beyond the low beam (7.5 foot to beam); Scenerio 2 I make the new wall where the beam is and make the room more narrow, now making the bedroom, bathroom, hallway and entrance bigger. But is this to my advantage, or should I make the home theater as big as possible as the bedroom is just for guests and I haven't decided what to do with the hallway and entrance room. In scenerio 2 the home theater looks like it is getting too small. What do ya'll think?
