When I got my projector, the 1080p projectors were EXPENSIVE!!!! Prices have dropped a lot so I would at least consider them if I had a 1080p source. The majority of my viewing is DVD and HD via OTA and DirecTV satellite. My screen is 103" and my projector is about 20 feet from the screen. Most projector sites have distance calculators that are manufacturer/model specific.
