Re: 8 Movies you'd pick to watch on a weekend you are stuck in the house
If I was going to sit home and watch 8 I had seen before to watch some favorites, I would watch -
1 - 3 LOTR extended versions
I've wanted to watch the extended cuts of these for years and have never gotten to it, so this would be the time
4 Drunken Master 2
Since I am already on action, I'll watch one of my favorite martial arts films that I have not watched in a long time
5 Shaolin Soccer
And follow it up with another favorite from Hong Kong, Stephen's best film IMO.
6 Lost In Translation
7 Darjeeling Limited
A couple of bittersweet comedies that I love, that touch me a little deeper than most comedies do.
8 Almost Famous
And finally, Sunday evening, watch a movie that rekindles the dream to be a rock star right before I have to face work for the next week.
I do have a huge pile of films I have never seen that I need to get to, so if I started to knock those down, the eight I would pick -
1 Josee, the Tiger and the Fish (A Japanese drama)
2 Bourne Ultimatum (I just watched the first two last week and enjoyed them quite a bit)
3 & 4 El Topo and The Holy Mountain (I can't believe I've never seen these films)
5 Fantastic Planet (same here)
6 Amelie (ditto)
7 Funky Forest (I loved The Taste of Tea, I need to see the directors follow up)
8 Maybe a couple of episodes of one of the many TV Shows I need to dig into (Monkey, Damo, Train Man)
