Even though Kate has Aaron off the island, there is no reason to think, based on what we've been given so far, that Claire dies. She may simply still be on the island. Why Kate would get off the island with Aaron instead of Claire, I don't know, but it still doesn't mean (necessarily) that Claire dies. After all, Desmond saw her being rescued.

Or did Desmond only tell Charlie that Claire would be rescued so that Charlie would go to the "Looking Glass" and die?
