If a movie has an aspect ratio of 2.35, you're still going to see black bars because the shape of your screen is 1.78 (and the image is 2.35). To fit the 2.35 image onto a 1.78 screen, you still need to have the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The bars on 2.35 movie are normal and you're seeing the movie as it's intended to be seen. If you have a movie that is 1.78 or 1.85, you're not going to see black bars because your TV screen is 1.78.
