A few words about...™ Bonnie and Clyde -- in Blu-Ray

An absolutely gorgeous job of scanning and image manipulation down to HD quality, Warner's new Blu-Ray of Bonnie and Clyde is much like viewing a dye transfer print of the film, but with a bit less overall saturation and a higher apparent resolution.

There is something special about screening a new film with neither reviews nor comments from any source. This precisely how I saw the film for the first time in 1967 -- at an employee screening in NY, with no idea what was going to be on screen. It was one of those situations in which the power of a film done well comes through and stays with you.

Four decades later, the film holds up magnificently, with all of the visceral impact still in place.

Bonnie and Clyde is not only one of the great films of the '60s, but should retain a special place in many people's list of the top 100 films from any decade.

This is a meticulously produced BD disc of the highest quality, that comes Extremely Highly Recommended, and should be a part of any serious collection of cinema on home video.
