you need to make sure you have an HD-DVD player to play the HD-DVD's in. Although, i would suggest blu-ray over HD-DVD since the format war was recently ended. If the home theater system you bought was HD-DVD (which i doubt, not many, if any, have hd-dvd support) I would highly HIGHLY suggest buying a blu-ray player even if the price of HD-DVD players attract you; they are now obsolete.
