Matt....did you check out the foreign (I think French) track? Although it is still mono, the fidelity is 100% better than the English track. That's really sad. I was, to say the least, angry at Paramount's treatment of the soundtrack of this film. The sound is horrible! My VHS tape sounds better. Also, I saw this movie at our local theater when it came out and vividly remember the stereo soundtrack in that theater. So much that I went 2 more times.With Paramount remastering so many soundtracks, it's very sad to see they passed on this one, which has a great Neil Diamond score, and released a track that sounds no better to me than AM radio. If a French track sounds that much better, there's something definately wrong here!
