If you're using surround sound through a receiver, why is the audio on the tv even on? In a HT setup, the tv is used only for video. Turn audio off on tv, is all I'd say to do. Surround will sound better by itself.

Are you trying to use the tv as the center channel? If so, it's not a very good idea IMHO. It doesn't timbre match your other speakers. Too much audio comes out of it. Can't really calibrate to the other speakers......... Just not a good idea.
